My own journey has taught me, if you can "dream it," then you can have it!
That’s an excellent question and I’m glad you want more information because it’s important that you get solid advice from experts who “walk their talk” – especially when you are creating the lifestyle of your dreams.
I have lived (and am still living) a Laptop Lifestyle for the past 15 years. In 1995 I took my first leap of faith outside the “typical career path.” After completing an Ivy League Education (a B.A. in Psychology from Brown University) and Graduate School (a Masters degree in Public Health), instead of finding a proper “job” or going back for even more school (many of my professors were telling me I should get a PhD…), I chose to pursue a dream of writing a book. I wanted to write a non-fiction guidebook for teen girls.

This book project eventually became the award winning, “Real Girl Real World,” which is now in it’s 2nd edition, sold internationally, and available in two languages. (And, yes, it was written on my very first laptop computer! I took my laptop to meetings with my co-author, interviews with teen girls and to the New York Public Library for research.)
You could say I caught the “freedom” bug because since that time, with the exception of 2 ½ years when I worked in an office for a non-profit, I have been someone who works for herself: in my pj’s if I want, and in a “have laptop will travel” fashion. And even during my short non-profit sojourn, I worked out how to create more vacation days (take unpaid leave), was brave enough to ask for Fridays as “work at home” days, and spent most lunch hours perusing positive mindset books for the keys to a better life.
In my search for the ever better lifestyle, I’ve mentored with two of the top master coach/teachers on the planet: Denise Linn (Founder of the International Institute of Soul Coaching) and Martha Beck (best selling author of “Finding Your Own North Star”). I firmly believe that investing in yourself by learning from those who are ahead of you can be the quickest way to grow and get you to where you want to be.
My experience is that having your own business and living the Laptop Lifestyle is an ever-unfolding and thrilling journey through life.
Dreams do come true! My humanitarian trip to Malawi in 2009.
